Our Story

How We Came To Be

Why the name? The first book I ever read was given to me by my father and it was about all the constellations. After reading this book, my father and I went stargazing and he told me to pick a star so that it would be mine. I was intrigued about the concept of the black star - always there and never fading. It was always recycling the energy around it then turning it into something new. It is the end and the beginning.

 

Moving to Paris from Italy was a challenge. It meant missing a lot of things that me and my husband Matteo had grown accustomed to. At the same time remember driving by this building and appreciating just its beauty wondering why it wasn't being used. What most people saw as a run down old building, I saw as the foundation for a beautiful project. As a black star recycles energy from around it, I decided to recycle the energy created from this small-town store many years ago. We wanted this building to be part of many people's daily life once again.
